Biography

With over a decade of experience in safeguarding assets and navigating complex digital ecosystems, Phillip has emerged as a trusted partner and subject matter expert to C-suite executives, boards of directors, and diverse global organizations seeking to elevate their security posture and mitigate risks in an ever-evolving threat landscape. Phillip's expertise lies at the intersection of security innovation and business strategy. As a solutions-focused strategist, he has designed and deployed enterprise information security programs that not only protect but also empower businesses.

Phillip's ability to implement data-driven metrics and reporting frameworks has consistently enabled organizations to measure and optimize the effectiveness of their security initiatives. What truly sets Phillip apart is his rare ability to clarify complex cybersecurity challenges and translate them into actionable insights. As a people-centric leader, Phillip champions the development of high-performing teams.

Since 2024, he has been serving as a cybersecurity advisor and owner at Reisender delivering best-in-class cybersecurity, GRC, and privacy consulting.  Throughout this period he has conducted NIST CSF maturity assessments for North America’s largest bottling association, providing trend analysis and strategic roadmaps to strengthen security postures. In this role, he delivered SOC 2 implementation services to a major Georgia non-profit, including conducting readiness and risk assessments, offering executive training, and suggesting actionable security program improvements.  Additionally, he executed multiple high-profile projects during this time including a technical tabletop exercise with executive stakeholders and technical teams representing three companies to identify gaps and deliver solutions to improve multi-company incident response strategies.

Prior to that, Phillip served as a Senior Consultant and founding member of a vCISO practice, where he led cross-functional teams in managing complex security and compliance programs, including developing a custom 300-control matrix mapped to more than 2,000 framework controls and ensuring audit readiness. He facilitated financial and operations-driven security readiness initiatives by advising companies through pre-acquisition risk assessments and program improvements to streamline program effectiveness and ensure operational continuity. He designed over a dozen security programs tailored to high-growth startups, Atlanta unicorns, and mid-sized companies, aligning solutions to address their unique security and privacy needs.

Shifting from IT and technology roles early in his professional career, Phillip has served as a consultant, where he actively engaged with executive leaders, including CISOs, CTOs, CFOs, and COOs to build and mature security and privacy governance programs. He oversaw the onboarding of 20+ new hires by providing coaching on firm practices, cybersecurity skills, and workstream execution to ensure seamless integration into the team.

Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Strategy and Innovation from Georgia Institute of Technology, Scheller College of Business. He is also a member of InfraGard and ISACA, where he currently serves as the Vice-President of the ISACA Atlanta chapter.

Phillip has obtained multiple certifications, such as Certified in Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.
